Our Stories
Tchoukball is a sport created in the 1960s in Switzerland. It is now played all over the world, and has even reached this school gym in the outer suburbs of Thailand. It is used as a platform here to support and build the community of children and young adults who have been estranged from their families. As they meet every weekend to practice, they are able to share life together, and dream of representing Thailand as professional athletes. From this small school gym, they have miraculously qualified for the World Tchoukball Championship in Prague this year. One Body Physiotherapy will support them by being their team physiotherapist and financially supporting a portion of their expenses for the trip.
This man suffered a stroke 2 years ago, causing him to be bedbound. After a family breakdown, he was left with only one son remaining in his life. His son brings him one meal a day, to the small dark room where he lives. There is no other help available, and he has not had a shower for the past 2 years. Through our work, we were able to support this man by cleaning his room, showering him, and providing him with a new bed and linen. Ongoing help will be required to reconnect him back with his family.
This is a small village in Thailand where there were many people suffering with musculoskeletal pain. They were not able to receive treatment due to the high cost involved. We visited this village weekly and treated multiple people, which provided an opportunity to bring the community together whilst also receiving physiotherapy treatment.
